We did the research and felt Lucca would be an ideal location for relaxation and day journeying e.g. Cinque Terra. I booked the Villa Gattaiola so that family from Europe, New Zealand and USA could meet in Tuscany. There were 11 of us and we immensely enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space, grand sized family room, dining room, 7 bedrooms and great character. There were also excellent outdoor facilities and a very modern pool. I’m not sure anything was missing. You can’t go wrong with this villa!

Very nice typical Tuscan accommodation. We loved the garden, the pool, the interior design of the house which was kept as close to the original from the XVII-th century. Monica, the manager, was also very nice and helpful.

My family of 10 (2 grandparents, 4 adults, 4 children) all had a wonderful time at this property! Monica (the property manager) was excellent to work with - very responsive and helpful. The space is incredible, offering a really nice layout and a nice master on the first floor that was nice for my parents (73, 75) and plenty of space for the kids. Each room was incredibly comfortable and all but one bedroom upstairs had an AC splitter. The pool was even more beautiful then the pictures! We did lose the hot water on the 2nd floor one evening and someone was at the house by 10am fixing it. They were so kind and I was so impressed by how quickly they resolved it. Monica also recommended a few chef's that new the space well and did an amazing job. I especially enjoyed chef Alice (i cannot stress how much we enjoyed her cooking!!!) so if you have a large group, i would definitely recommend it! One note that maybe should be mentioned at check in. There are two places in the Lucca area that have the exact same address according to GPS so a few times taxis drove us all over the place!! When ordering a cab, you definitley need to say GATTAIOLA along with the address. Also, the best app to get a taxi is appTaxi. Everytime we tried to call for a taxi - there was no answer. Again, I cannot express how much we loved this property and hope to come back again!

Maison très spacieuse située sur un terrain énorme, très bien entretenu et au calme sans aucun vis à vis. Grande piscine très agréable. Excellent accueil de la part de Mrs Cristina. Très bonne location au pied de l'excellente ville de Lucca.

We couldn’t believe how lucky we were with the property. The views were amazing, the house beautiful and clean and the pool (once the weather had warmed up!) was much enjoyed. It was so close to Lucca and we took the 6 children with us, aged from 2-7Смотреть ещё
We couldn’t believe how lucky we were with the property. The views were amazing, the house beautiful and clean and the pool (once the weather had warmed up!) was much enjoyed. It was so close to Lucca and we took the 6 children with us, aged from 2-7, into the town for ice creams, pizzas and a very fun bike ride around the wall. Mrs Daniela was fantastic and even came to rescue us when we got lost... 2 minutes away from the villa! Thank you for such a lovely holiday, we can’t hold anyone responsible for May having the worst weather in 20 years, as all the locals kept telling us. It got warm at the end of the week and we made the most of the sunshine.
