Plenty of kitchen equipment to prepare meals if you are prepared to stay away from the restaurants. Its position is ideal on a quiet road with the very attractive stream just a few yards away. Even for us as a couple getting on in years and with arthritic problems we were able to explore with ease. Lucca is a magical city and Casa Janca was the icing on the cake.

This was our return trip to Lucca after several years and we remembered this street. My husband actually bought a bag at the leather store on the corner in 2012 and was able to go back and meet the same artisan who originally helped him (and laugh at how much older they both were in the picture!). The apartment is exactly as described. The bed is comfy. While the windows are high, they allow in a ton of light. Two bathrooms were a nice touch. Well stocked kitchen and a perfect place to work remotely (and run out for a gelato between meetings!). Cost saving hint with a car - We parked at the local lot on the first and last night to have luggage access and just walked from the free lot outside of the walls (10-15 min) the rest of the time.

Overall, the apartment was very good. The only concerns that we had are when we checked in the coffee maker was not cleaned. The grinds had to be emptied. The apartment is in a good location. Suggest taking a taxi to/from the train station with luggvedi di più

Suggest taking a taxi to/from the train station with luggage. Areas can be rocky and may damage luggage. The water fountain was was outside of the apartment which was great to refill large water bottles. The quality of Lucca water is excellent and safe. The bed was comfortable. WiFi is good. I would stay again.

It is hard to maintain the heat so there should be better quality throw blankets , one for each person. We left some supplies there but there is a super market about a 7 minute walk away.

We loved this apartment. Ground floor is easy, no lugging suitcases up lots of stairs. Fitted with all the necessities and tastefully decorated. Updated bathrooms with rain shower heads. Easy walk to the famous walking wall and local shops across thevedi di più
We loved this apartment. Ground floor is easy, no lugging suitcases up lots of stairs. Fitted with all the necessities and tastefully decorated. Updated bathrooms with rain shower heads. Easy walk to the famous walking wall and local shops across the street for the basics like bread, milk , coffee and pastries. The luxury of having two full bathrooms was wonderful!! If you have luggage and arrive by train take a taxi to the apartment it’s an easy walk as long as you have no luggage. The people of Lucca are lovely. Easy check in and great communication, totally hassle free.

We stayed in the apartment for three weeks and really enjoyed it. The apartment itself is nicely decorated and even though it was only two of us, we liked having the second bathroom. And we especially appreciated the location, it is not in the centervedi di più
We stayed in the apartment for three weeks and really enjoyed it. The apartment itself is nicely decorated and even though it was only two of us, we liked having the second bathroom. And we especially appreciated the location, it is not in the center of the tourist area, but felt more like a real neighborhood. Piazza San Francesco is right around the corner and has a couple of nice restaurants, bars, and bike rental. And it seemed like there was always something going on there with live music at the restaurants, a band on the piazza, occasional food market, etc. We would definitely come back here again.

Two large baths so my wife and I spread out our own toiletries in each.. No shower curtains so be careful to aim shower head towards the back! Very chic. Living room like being at home. Large table to spread out our papers and plot our trips around Tvedi di più
Two large baths so my wife and I spread out our own toiletries in each.. No shower curtains so be careful to aim shower head towards the back! Very chic. Living room like being at home. Large table to spread out our papers and plot our trips around Tuscany. King size bed was comfortable and closing shutters and sliding doors kept street sounds and light mostly out (busses start running right in front early in the morning, but we were usually up anyway). The washer AND electric dryer were very convenient (many places in Italy that boast washer/dryer actually offer a drying rack vs. a machine, and clothes can take as long as 36 hours to fully dry inside, so this was great). The strenuous rules for sorting trash and leaving nothing behind on exit were a bit of a pain, we had bottles out on the stoop the wrong designated day as instructions were not 100% clear. When we left we carried out our wet trash (coffee grinds, uneaten snacks, etc.) to sneak into a public waste bin. There are several restaurants with local folks nearby but the main action in Luca is a 10 - 15 minute walk - we were actually glad not to be in the middle of the Italian "evening strollers" masses! What is not "around the corner" are food stores, we had a bit of a hike to find one for wine and breakfast food. Also if you drive to Lucca the Mazzini car park is just inside the walls and should not be in the ZTL zones (hope we don't get a surprise fine months later as we understand can happen!). Don't bother with driving to find the parking authority to purchase the 50 euro "permission" for weekly/monthly rate, we did on a Sunday as instructed to on arrival by the property manager and they were closed, with limited hours on weekdays as well. The extra cost we incurred for the week (at .50 euros per hour) was only 15 euros, not worth the valuable time away from Tuscany touring to bother. Kitchen had rudimentary supplies but our main requirement was a working corkscrew and a coffeemaker, which were available. Great place to base Tuscany touring from!

Our stay here was terrific! It exceeded all our expectations. This place is in such a great location. Air conditioning in all rooms. Washer and dryer. Got some of the best sleep in the king size bed.

The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. The bed was really comfortable and the info left by the host was really thorough and useful. It was a little chilly as the heaters aren't really designed to warm the large rooms but overall we wouldn't hesitate at all about returning. We loved it!
