It’s perfect for 2 people and we loved the convenience of the lift. It’s bright and airy with a well appointed kitchen and very comfortable bed. Lots of storage space and the outdoor space is cozy and private. Our concierge, Manuel, is superb, but we had excellent interactions with Chiara, Elena and Michele.

Kitchen is well-equipped, bed and couch extremely comfy and the apartment is furnished beautifully. The spaces are bright and look exactly as they do in the pictures (perhaps even better)! The private courtyard is a wonderful addition, as is the lift (especially for taking luggage/heavy shopping up). Location is perfect, right in the middle of town. Thank you to Manuel and the team at Lucca Apartments and Villas, who are all wonderfully attentive and helpful for anything you may need. We can’t wait until our next visit :)

Also, when we made the original contract booking in Sept 2022 the check in time was until 2100- when we checked in (at 2030) I was told that there was a 50 euro late fee. This is wrong. I feel that you would treat a return customer better. This was the fourth time that we booked with you and I was also responsible for recommending other parties to you that did rent Casa Barbra in 2019 and 2022. Your consideration of a refund on this will be appreciated. Mille Grazie- I hope to book again with you soon. Ciao

There were pleasant surprises: the view of the Guinigi Tower, the private garden space, the welcome bottle of wine, the elevator. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage for us to fully unpack. The apartment was clearly renovated to a very high level, and the added personal touches and decor helped make it inviting and comfortable. The host was extremely accommodating with our changing check-in time, and Elizabeth was waiting for us when we arrived. As others have noted, the music coming from the music school was an added bonus. We would highly recommend this apartment and hope to return.

There is a music school next door and music and singing filters through the apartment most days which is just so very “Italian”, and the furnishings are all of a music theme. Casa Santa Zita is a little gem, hidden away in the old paved streets of Lucca Old Town. Accessed through a courtyard at the end of Vicolo del Pescatore. There are 50 stairs to reach the apartment, if you want to put the steps in, but there is a modever más
Casa Santa Zita is a little gem, hidden away in the old paved streets of Lucca Old Town. Accessed through a courtyard at the end of Vicolo del Pescatore. There are 50 stairs to reach the apartment, if you want to put the steps in, but there is a modern lift to take the strain as well, with an amazing view of the Torre Guinigi as you step out of the lift. The apartment itself has to be seen to be believed, a description just does not do it justice. The well stocked kitchen area has everything you need for cooking and cleaning, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bed was really comfortable and the shower both quick acting and efficient. Sonia and the concierge team are readily accessible by phone and email and are more than happy to answer your queries (I managed to find a newsagent that sold the Gazetta dello Sport, thanks to Manuel). As mentioned, the musical sounds from the collegio next door regularly drift across into the apartment and the enclosed garden downstairs, which adds a certain Italian feel to your stay. Must also mention the complimentary use of two bikes , a must for traversing around the town walls, if the 2.5 miles is a bit too far for you to walk. As far as eating out goes, you literally can't go wrong. However the well documented listings in the handbook that can be found in the apartment gives you plenty of options. Our favourites? Nearby, Osterian Nova 'restaurant' and Pult and il Bistro by Piqui 'wine bars'. Further afield, on Via San Paolina, Rusticanella2 da Luca and Osteria del Bastian Contrario. With a special mention to Pasticceria Dianda - a four minutes walk to pastry paradise! And Suffice to say we will be making plans to visit Casa Santa Zita again, which is probably the best endorsement one can give. It’s bright and airy, and tremendously quiet except for the lovely sound of musicians from the conservatory next door in the afternoon. The bedroom is completely dark and silent. The bed is on the firm side and comfortable and there are 2 densities of bed pillows to choose from. Kitchen is very well equipped. Location is smack in the center of Lucca. Check in and out was a breeze. There’s a binder with extensive information about shops, restaurants, and pretty much anything else you might need. The downstairs private terrace is a wonderful place to sit and readhave drinks and there’s an elevator which makes that easy to take advantage of. The bikes were a nice bonus too.

We were very grateful for the bottled water (and wine!) which were left to tide us over until the morning. The supermarket is a very short walk from the apartment which makes it extremely easy to buy groceries as required on a daily basis and the prices are more than reasonable. The central location in the old centre of Lucca was perfect, just seconds from the shops, bars and restaurants and we never tired of exploring the old narrow streets. Having said this the apartment is deadly quiet and I don't think I've ever slept so well!
