The house was beautiful! It was somehow better than the photos. It was perfect for three couples and a great location to explore Tuscany. The suggestions for a wine tour and a private chef were outstanding and really made for a magical trip.

As an adult family of 6 we have enjoyed a lovely 10 days holiday in Villa Matilde.
We love visited Lucca, FLorence, Viareggio and a local vineyard but also enjoyed great relaxing days by the pool!

It was set in a very picturesque area in the Lucca hills, with breathtaking views. It was very much tranquil, perfect for relaxing. Short drive from Pisa airport. Very close to Lucca and city of Pisa. We loved the gardens, the pool and in particular the gazebo dining area, which allowed for plenty of el fresco dining. The accommodation itself is full of rustic character and was very comfortable. The annexe was a great feature. Monica was a fabulous host. Great communications before and during the stay. Would highly recommend Villa Matilde to anyone looking for a luxurious slice of Tuscany.

We stayed four nights in May 2023. Monica met us promptly and showed us around. The place was perfect for 2 couples with one couple staying in the main house and one in the apartment. The pool & gazebo made for a relaxing experience. The neighborhood显示更多
We stayed four nights in May 2023. Monica met us promptly and showed us around. The place was perfect for 2 couples with one couple staying in the main house and one in the apartment. The pool & gazebo made for a relaxing experience. The neighborhood is very quiet and charming. There is a beautiful view of Lucca 10 miles to the north. We marveled at the watch tower on the property built in the 1100-1200 AD time period. Too bad the tower door was locked or we would have climbed up. We will stay here again if we make it back to the region.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in der Villa. Die Agentur hat sogar auf Nachfrage das Wasser im Pool noch gelassen obwohl es eigentlich bereits abgelassen werden sollte. Die Kinder haben sich sehr darüber gefreut .-) Die Lage der Villa ist super r显示更多

Die Kinder haben sich sehr darüber gefreut .-) Die Lage der Villa ist super ruhig und mit sensationellem Blick ins Tal und auf die Berge. Der Garten ist ein Traum. Zwei getrennte Häuser mit insgsammt 6 Betten. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Der einzige Wehmutstropfen ist die zwar super ausgestattete Küche, die aber sehr wenig Arbeitsfläche bietet umd wirklich zu kochen. Lieber die leckere Pizza von Leos in Capannori!

The highlight of our stay was certainly the outdoor space. The beautiful pool and dining area is where we spent the most of our time, we never wanted to leave.
Great service and communication from Lucca apartments and villas, will definitely use again. |

We had a most enjoyable time at the Villa Matilde. The facilities are great and we all enjoyed the pool. In the local village is an excellent pizzeria serving very good food. There is also a small shop for bread, cheeses & other groceries.

A little modernisation in the kitchen is probably needed. Plastic glasses for use around the pool would also be safer.

Amazing place! Aircondition in all three bedrooms, great pool, well-equipped kitchen. Very close to the perfect neighbourhood restaurant Tre Tigli. I would recommend everyone to stay here!

The villa is amazing! Exactly what the pictures showed. The garden has sun and shadow all day. Lucca is just a 15/20 minutes drive and Florence 1 hour. The baby bed and high chair were also prepared for us.

Amazing place. The gardens are beautiful, pool is lovely and very quirky building. Not far from Lucca at all. Wonderful for some relaxation in the Italian countryside. Owners were very responsive and helpful.

So not to tear up writing this review, I will simply copy what I wrote in the guest book... 17/4/2022 We are equal parts hearts full and cup runneth over, while also heartbroken at the very same time with thoughts of leaving tomorrow. When we arrived at Villa Matilde after two weeks in country, we knew we had left the best for last...but then our expectations and dreams were even surpassed! I lost count of how many times I uttered "is this even real?" I will dream of this place until I return, my belle Toscana! You have my heart! Grazie mille un milione di volte! (We traveled as two adults and two teen boys) IF I HAD TO think of anything to make this spot more magical...maybe a swing.

Sehr schöne Villa aufgeteilt in 2 separate Häuser mit tollem, großen Garten. Auch wenn das Wetter nicht mehr so mitgespielt hat, konnten wir viel Zeit im Pavillon im Garten verbringen und haben den Grill oft genutzt. Die beiden Einzelbetten im 2. Hau显示更多
Sehr schöne Villa aufgeteilt in 2 separate Häuser mit tollem, großen Garten. Auch wenn das Wetter nicht mehr so mitgespielt hat, konnten wir viel Zeit im Pavillon im Garten verbringen und haben den Grill oft genutzt. Die beiden Einzelbetten im 2. Haus wurden in der Zwischenzeit mit einem Doppelbett ersetzt. Die Zimmer waren alle sehr schön, die Matratzen sind allerdings teilweise schon etwas durchgelegen. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, wir konnten ohne Probleme für 6 Leute kochen und grillen. Insgesamt hat uns der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen, vor allem der Garten hat es uns angetan!

You will need a car though as it is out of any main towns . Overall a really fabulous place and we are considering booking again.

There was also a decent restaurant, bar and shop only a 5-10 minute walk away. Any questions I had were met with a quick response and the owner made every effort to make sure our stay was an enjoyable one. The villa is stunning, the view is insane, the design is stunning, but please note that it is 2 detached villas if you come with small children it is problematic because they sleep in a separate building from the main house, 2 stunning bedrooms in the main building living room kitchen and dining area everything is perfect and in the second building 2 single beds and more Shower and washing machine and dryer, if you are with older children it is very suitable they have their own villa, the trip there is in the mountains but practicing after once, quite far from the Tuscany area suitable for those traveling in the Lucca Pisa area and the region. The corner pool villa in the courtyard are perfect!

The owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We travelled with a baby and a toddler and they would have been happy to never leave the gorgeous swimming pool! Easy to get to Lucca and Pisa with a car and only an hour from Florence.
